Mason’s Mill & Lumber Co. has been Houston’s premier
supplier of high grade hardwoods and millwork for over 15 years. Michael
Spellings, owner and President of Mason’s Mill and Lumber Co.,
is a third generation lumberman who was born into a sawmill and hardwood
processing family. With a distribution background in the greater Houston
area dating back decades, he identified a need in the late 80’s
for a high end wholesale hardwood distributor in our market.
From that concept, Michael and his wife, Anne, recruited two veterans of the hardwood trade in the Houston area. John Sorenson came on board with an extensive knowledge of wood species and characteristics due to his long history in the high-end custom hardwood flooring trade. Eric Boer was recruited due to his extensive history in imported hardwoods and affiliation with the supplier base in timber harvesting countries around the world.
Due to Michael’s extensive contacts and long standing relationships
with North America’s leading producers of fine hardwoods, Mason’s
Mill & Lumber Co. quickly became the largest distributor of high
grade hardwoods and plywood in the Greater Houston area. An immediate
need for superior and diverse millwork capabilities was also identified,
and an aggressive campaign to establish Houston’s most comprehensive
millwork facility was initiated.
The culmination of the aforementioned endeavors has given Mason’s Mill & Lumber Co. the ability to offer the Greater Houston consumer the most diverse and comprehensive inventory and milling capabilities the market has to offer. Our inventory and our complete milling facility are located at our company owned 17 acre facility in Northwest Houston.
